Summit Acres Home Care Announces Name Change to Absolute Home Health

CALDWELL, OH (January 29, 2018) - Summit Acres Home Care announced it will change its name to Absolute Home Health. Summit Acres Home Care had been a part of Caldwell and the surrounding communities for over 20 years and is undergoing a rebrand to reflect its ownership and new business strategy.

 

In 2012, the company was acquired by family owned and operated health system, The Schroer Group, Inc. (TSG, Inc.), who also acquired Summit Acres Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. At the time of the acquisition, transition plans maintained that the Summit Acres name would stay intact until further research had been done. The home care business merged with Absolute Home Health and is now known as the Caldwell location. Absolute Home Health has two other office locations in North Canton and Independence, Ohio.

 

“This is a tight-knit community, and we wanted to sustain that sense of community until we knew it was the appropriate time,” said Mike McConnell, vice president of home care & hospice. “We plan to honor the legacy of the foundational business – a vision to provide exceptional care at home. This name change and rebrand are reflective of our dedication to this area and to advance our position as the leader of home care services.”

 

TSG, Inc. was dedicated to keeping the work culture intact and retained all original employees, including a 22-year veteran of the group, Chris Singer, director of operations. The acquisition brought on more responsibility for Singer, now overseeing operations for all home health and hospice campuses. “In 2012, our team had questions about how this transition was going to go, naturally. Today, I can speak for our entire Caldwell team when I say we’ve been incredibly pleased with our corporate leadership, and the newfound opportunities that being aligned with them have brought to our community and beyond,” said Singer.
